Thursday started with travel to Bir’im, the Palestinian village that was destroyed in the 1947 time frame.\u00a0 We met Tomme’ Magzel who was 20 years old in 1947.\u00a0 He gave us a personal account of the struggles of his village and family.\u00a0 Bir’im is still only ruins other than the church that was rebuilt.<\/p>\n

Our next stop was at the Carmelite Monestary for a panoramic view of Northern Israel. It sits on the Carmel ridge and hovers at 497 meters above sea level.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next we went to Caesarea National Park on the Mediterranean. The city and harbor were built under Herod the Great<\/a> during c. 22\u201310 BC. Pictured are the aqueduct, the palace baths, and theater.<\/p>\n

Our travels took us to Haifa. This city is a major seaport<\/a> located on Israel’s Mediterranean<\/a> coastline in the Bay of Haifa. We visited the Gardens of the Baha’i World Center.<\/span><\/p>\n
